Right... tell that to the Thai embassies/consulates in LA, New York, Paris, Berlin... neither of them has any idea what is going to happen until Nove 1. They have yet to receive their orders from upon high.
Most hotels are SHA registered. But be careful Hostels and/or guesthouses. Some say that they are, but have been removed due to the Thai government's ... fill in the blanks here.
Ah yes... insurance... now it is either 3 million Baht for A/O Visa or what was it today... 50,000 US??? The question is relevant and with the Thai government waffling from one day to the next with no clear standardization across the board... it is a question that will come up often. This bit about having to have a Thai insurance company issue said coverage vs one from overseas... well... other than the Thai companies wanting to make more money from the Farangs not t metion the government... it should NOT matter a dam where you arrange for your coverage as long as the coverage in keeping with what is required. But do give the guy a break. For like the rest of us here in Thailand keeping our heads around the daily even hourly changes not to mention the fact that different answers will be gotten depending on where/who/day of the week/or mood of the individual in authority you talk to. Even the foreign Thai embassies have no idea. Just ask them at the consulate in LA or Paris (to name 2).
well ... just your opinion. To me $150 to get someone else to do it and be able to sit and relax and not get stressed with making arrangements or spending time finding all the ducks to get into order... to me it worth the extra funds
Make it a simple life when retirement kicks in... right?
