TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the approval process for Thailand Pass applications, which will be handled by Thai authorities rather than embassies. Concerns are raised about the varying formats of vaccination certificates and the confusion over the entry guidelines for tourists, specifically regarding vaccination and possible quarantine requirements. Clarification is sought about the visa categories, the online application for visa extensions, and the Certificate of Entry (COE) process. Commenters express worries about timing and procedural clarity.

My Singapore vaccination certificate has no QR code on either the downloadable PDF or the digital online version. I guess another hurdle.

I know nothing is really clear on this but the standard visa on arrival for a for a foreigner is the same as pre covid, 30 days, the difference is that you now have to apply online to get an extension 4 weeks in advance. Is that 4 weeks before you arrive or after you have arrived. So it really it means day 2nd day of your arrival?
I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.
Visa exempt (very different from Visa on arrival) is still 30 days and eligible for a single 30 day extension. There is no such thing as filing for an extension online in Thailand as you must present yourself at the immigration office to request an extension. You can do this all the way up to the last day on your entry stamp (as long as the office is open that day).
thanks, I've tried following the various announcements for the past months, I'm more confused now. I plan to come up in mid December for 6 weeks. Just trying to understand the requirements.

I've been wondering about this, and this helps decipher the process, though I still think they're leaving a grey area with their wording/placement of the notice. I think we won't really know much until it's in use.

No 6. They have also changed how Thai nationals travelling on foreign passports need to enter Thailand

Good luck with that. The consulates are already not capable of understanding local aspects of things (proof of vaccination, insurances and such). So how would someone even lass familiar somewhere in Thailand be able to judge that?
it just means have onward travel within 30 days. You can rent a cheap ticket for $10 to fulfill this requirement then extend or convert as usual. They're just finally codifying and answering the question that gets asked 1000 times per day "do I need my return ticket to be within 30 days even if I'm going to extend??"
definitely not finished. And it's not a fake booking, they are 100% real bookings made in your name and then cancelled at a later date. It's no different than you rebooking your flight once you're in Thailand
from what I read somewhere was that if the documents had a QR code then the system would accept them automatically. For those that didn’t then they’d be routed to the “manual” check line and that’s why they say it may take up to 7 days to process. Either way I see some headaches and frustrations in the wings.
