It's rejected because the address you're trying to use filing the 90 day report doesn't match the last TM30 they have on file. It happens anytime you stay somewhere other than your home address, if they file the tm30 as they should. Whoever owns the home address you're staying at needs to file a new TM30. In Chiang Mai I've been able to just go to the immigration office for the 90 day report and they update the TM30.
thanks. Just want to keep options open in case I don't feel like traveling at that time. I do realize it's best to wait until after the 90 days right at the end of the visa to get the most out of it, but may not want to travel just before new years. I haven't decided yet. Good to know there's options.
I never switched my region because I think you can only do it one time per year and was worried some of my other needed apps may not work or update after switching. I didn't realize it was so easy to switch accounts for that though. I'll have to give that a try.
I don't even have the visa yet. Just trying to plan the timing of when I will need to do my first 90 day border bounce so it doesn't land on Jan 1st. Trying to understand my options since this will be my first time for that visa.
I've only bothered to do the TM30 once when I first move into a new condo, and don't really care if a hotel files one or not. In Chiang Mai they've never seemed to care since it's the same place. At most they just updated the TM30 when I was at immigration for something else that required it. I believe other offices may be more strict about it.
the TM30 is the responsibility of the homeowner to report that a foreigner is staying on their property. The TM47 is for the foreigner to notify that they have stayed 90 days. Two different forms for different purposes, although they seem similar, and different people responsible for filing them.
Don't try to figure out the why when it comes to all the unnecessary duplication of paperwork, forms, and procedures in Thailand. They love their paperwork and it will just drive you crazy. It is what it is.
also the 90 day report isn't "applying" for another 90 days. It's simply reporting where you are staying and is not the same as how many days you were stamped in for, or allowed to stay.
correct. The 90 day report is for anyone that stays more than 90 days in country and is a completely different topic. With the multiple entry non-o visa obtained outside of thailand (at least the one in Savannakhet) you only get stamped in for 90 days so do not need to worry about the 90 day report.
