TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the situation where an expat's 90-day report is rejected due to a missing or mismatched TM30 filing. Comments suggest that this can happen if the landlord has not filed a TM30 within 24 hours of the tenant's arrival or if the tenant has stayed at another address without proper filing. The expat is advised to instruct their landlord to update the TM30 and ensure they receive a receipt for it. Others share experiences of how different immigration offices handle TM30 and 90-day reporting, highlighting variations in bureaucracy across Thailand.

I have travelled all over Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Australia and never done another TM30, I also have yellow book, not sure if that is why?

I do go to immigration on return from another country but not when I travel in Thailand.

Never had an issues, I also do not do online reporting I go there every 90 days to report.

They know me well at the 90 day desk with some pork buns occasionally for the office. πŸ‘πŸ™

It depends of which Immigration bureau you report to. In Chiang Mai, as far is my own experience, after you made the first TM30 registration, Immigration doesn't ask any new TM30 declaration when you leave and come back at the same place (even from a foreign country).

Bernard Le Du we went to Nam as well about 8 weeks ago and I did report back in, because again they say they want me to check in after I have been out of the country. As you said each immigration in each province do their thing.

Yes, I do understand that it resets to 0 after leaving the country but as I said I just do as they require. They are very good at Udon, I heard a lot of bad reports about the office when I arrived permanently just before Covid, but I have found them excellent. Always very thorough, business like and friendly. Maybe that’s the pork buns I take in occasionally for all in the office. Have great day

@Bernard *******
correct but because I will be out of the country when my 90 day is due that want me to reset with them, just do as I am told, sometimes.😜😜

@Richard *******
For the 90days, there is nothing to do.

The 90days starts again from 0, the day you come back in the country. It is automatic, no need to go anywhere.

I just went to Vietnam few week ago, and didn't di anything for 90Days or TM30 (but i'm "manage" by Chiang Mai Immigration, and could be quite different in another part of Thailand : each Immigration bureau wrks a bit as it's main officer decides).

I go in after an OS trip because the Immigration told me to. I am heading to OZ in October and told them that I will miss my next 90 day as I will be out of the country, and they to come in within a week of return so they can reset the 90 day reporting date.

Do they really expect people to bother other people (landlord) to file a new TM.30 every tome one was out in a hotel for a weekend? Can this countries bureaucracy be any more messed up?
Martyn ***********
It literally tells you?
Nigel *********
You need to tell your houses''s owner to update T.M.30
Kool *******
There is not a current TM30 on file that matches the address you listed on your 90 day report. The landlord was supposed to file one within 24 hours after your arrival. Most likely there will be a fine for no current TM30. This happens a lot with Airbnb rentals, as the owners don't want the government to know they aren't paying taxes on the rentals..lolol. They will not let you file your 90 day report until you now produce the TM30 in person.

@Car *******
A TM30 has to be filed within 24 hours of your arrival. See your landlord.
John *******
@Car *******
So the owner of your place may never have filed a TM30.

Your landlord needs to update your TM30.

If you left the country and came back, or stayed at another place who registered a different TM30 than where you normally live, you will need your landlord to file another TM30.

but I didn't go anywhere

@Car *******
Then your landlord might not have filed your TM30 to begin with.

Make sure they do it, and get a reciept.
Wylie *******
It's rejected because the address you're trying to use filing the 90 day report doesn't match the last TM30 they have on file. It happens anytime you stay somewhere other than your home address, if they file the tm30 as they should. Whoever owns the home address you're staying at needs to file a new TM30. In Chiang Mai I've been able to just go to the immigration office for the 90 day report and they update the TM30.

@Car *******
strange then. Either way you'll need to file a new TM30 and/or go to the office to sort it out most likely.

It only goes back to zero when you leave the country not when you change address
