No as I already say he can open a new bangkok bank account on the strength of having one already in the province of his choosing so that's NO ISSUE. if you have input then direct it to the OP not me as I'm going on experience and friends how did.

Yep he wants an account in Thailand as as yet the DTV does NOT allow this as its 180 days.

I shifted Bangkok sukhumvit soi 11 account to Pakchong in Lotus shopping centre and then back to Sukhumvit Rd branch opp soi11. So can be done and yes the open a NEW account transfer your balance and request old account to be closed. Although my account is in Sukhimvit Rd now I use my closest branch in sukhumvit soi 71 to do "the other stuff" you mention. No problem whatsoever including a new Mastercard. Yep didn't have to go back to my Sukhumvit Rd branch.

So I wouldn't recommend to the OP UNLESS I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

So he can get a Bangkok bank account with agent help from ฿3,500 in Pattaya or he can go from branch to branch and will probably jag one that will open an account for him.
