I asked London embassy, because I need to renew next year, they said take old passport with me , as you don't get a 'stick in' visa, more a pdf printable A4 paper copy 🤷🏻‍♂️

thanks Tod, In all fairness I probably don't NEED the visa, now the VE is 60days(+30) but never know what the future holds. 👍🏻

I know, plan is to do a few more courses that weren't feasible with ED visa.

It's the same when I hear about people getting a visa on the basis of booking to get a filling done at the dentist 👀

...and to add to that, I saw that on soft power, this now includes 'education and seminar' that's why I thought I would apply.

I received my DTV last week with proof of a 60day enrollment acceptance letter and payment receipt to a Thai school for learning Thai. I booked that months ago yet applied for DTV 2 weeks ago.

Hey mate, drop me a DM, I'm in a similar situation but managed to sort it.

I booked a month long course with a school in Bangkok about 6months ago. I then had a look 2 weeks ago at the DTV requirements and under 'education' I took a £300 gamble and applied.

All I needed was proof of payment and an acceptance letter, regards the soft power section.

Not sure if I am an exemption as the school did say "they have not yet sent an acceptance letter for DTV"

I plan on doing more 4week modules as and when so don't mind booking and paying in advance and having a new itinerary , as initially thought about an ED visa but would not work for me. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

I have done a similar thing. I had a pre booked (months ago) 4 week mon-fri course...and thought I would apply for DTV. It was successful. Now I have heard rumours that each visit, would need to show a new itinerary/course.

Like I say rumours, as the visa does not state whether the person is on soft power or digital nomad etc

Silly question to jump on this...i thought visa were to be stuck inside passport. However what I have recieved is an A4 pdf file...print a paper copy to show at Immigration?
