as far as I am aware METV does not need proof of employment, I think it requires proof of finance/funds, to show you can support yourself while here and afford a flight home. Best bet is to look at Thai visa/embassy website. All details will be on there.

Look at the METV - Multi entry tourist visa. If used correctly can get around 9months of use.

I agree also....when I sent my application I kissed goodbye to £300 fully thinking it would get rejected.

I got mine under Education 'learning Thai' the establishment registered with the Ministry of Education and a highly respected, reputable , legitimate school...

however if I applied again under Education and sent a letter of confirmation that I was learning Japanese, with a private tutor in an office, whilst in Bangkok, I am sure the outcome would be different

Yes badminton is popular here but I wouldn't really describe it as a 'soft power' I feel it would be viewed the same as applying for a CrossFit membership or joining your local football club.

you are wrong. There is wording on adverts saying "education and seminars" as learning Thai cooking and Muay Thai could also be obtained on a ED visa.

I have got my DTV same way, I have booked numerous 30_60 day modules that are spread out.
