TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among commenters is that registration at a traditional language school may not qualify for a DTV visa unless specific conditions are met. One commenter noted that their school referred to their language course as a seminar, which may have helped with eligibility. Another shared their personal experience of successfully applying for a DTV visa based on their enrollment in a language course, despite the school's lack of provision for an acceptance letter for DTV at that time.

I booked a month long course with a school in Bangkok about 6months ago. I then had a look 2 weeks ago at the DTV requirements and under 'education' I took a £300 gamble and applied.

All I needed was proof of payment and an acceptance letter, regards the soft power section.

Not sure if I am an exemption as the school did say "they have not yet sent an acceptance letter for DTV"

I believe unless they write the paperwork like it's a thai culture/language SEMINAR it will not work

Some people had signed up for thai language classes and were told to get an ED visa
