Got you, understand. However with light on clamping down on people abusing Visa exempt stamps, I thought Express/VIP schemes would also be under scrutiny.

At least everybody gets their own desired result at the end of the day :-)

Am I right in saying...you will be met, before the immigration arrivals desks, taken somewhere separate and guaranteed an entry stamp, in return of lining someone's hands with ฿ . Smiles all round, everybody is a winner? I understand the logic of a small border bounce where there aren't as many eyes...but how does this work in one of the busiest airports in the world? Or am I missing something?

No Idea pal, all I know is that visa best suits people who want to stay for circa 6months with a few trips to neighbouring countries.

as far as I am aware METV does not need proof of employment, I think it requires proof of finance/funds, to show you can support yourself while here and afford a flight home. Best bet is to look at Thai visa/embassy website. All details will be on there.

Look at the METV - Multi entry tourist visa. If used correctly can get around 9months of use.

Great article with good insight. Really respect the capacity/integrity situation, you could have made more ฿ but stuck to your morals. 👍🏻 All the best.

METV ...if used correctly, can spend 9 months in Thailand with a few trips in and out of country.

I agree also....when I sent my application I kissed goodbye to £300 fully thinking it would get rejected.

I got mine under Education 'learning Thai' the establishment registered with the Ministry of Education and a highly respected, reputable , legitimate school...

however if I applied again under Education and sent a letter of confirmation that I was learning Japanese, with a private tutor in an office, whilst in Bangkok, I am sure the outcome would be different

Yes badminton is popular here but I wouldn't really describe it as a 'soft power' I feel it would be viewed the same as applying for a CrossFit membership or joining your local football club.
