I would not mind more amnesty, it would make sense. I do dislike the enormous entitlement many/some people seem to feel.
"They have to let us stay, there is no way to get home. I have no home in my own country, they can't make me go home. Thailand needs us, we are important for tourism."
For people in trouble and trying to understand the situation on both sides, working on a solution, I hope they get much more time to make arrangements.
I understand it is unsettling, I would get nervous as well. But you still have lots of time to find out how to stay here on a long term visa. If you were hoping on getting information from immigration how to stay here long term on a tourist visa, I think they will not be of much help.😉
I think they will not be deporting all people on amnesty on August 1. So I am sure you still have enough time to take care of the correct visa, or they will give you enough time to plan your trip back home. But I think you should not expect to be able to stay here on a tourist visa forever.
I think it would be helpfull for some people if you give more info. You say you are on the automatic visa extension, but I think you mean the amnesty. That is a difference, because when you are on amnesty it means you no longer have a valid visa to change to an Ed visa.
So maybe you could give more info about the visa you had an until what date it was stamped?
I read before some people also have Ed visa for Muay Thai training, and on Google I saw hand to hand combat training Ed visa.😁 So maybe a good idea to look for something you would like to do if that is possible. I think language school is actualy very usefull here.
