So, I am currently in Thailand, I fall under the category of the automatic visa extension that occurred months ago, I don't know how to obtain an Education Visa - I am seeking more information on the process of doing this (nothing I read under the Education Visa tab was helpful for what I am asking) - Also, is the only right for an Education visa for learning Thai or are there other school/training options?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in Thailand under an automatic visa extension and is seeking information on how to obtain an Education Visa, as they found the existing resources unhelpful. They are also inquiring if the Education Visa is solely for learning Thai or if there are other training options available. The comments provide insights on the cost of education, clarify the difference between automatic extension and amnesty, and caution against schools that may offer dubious means to secure an Education Visa.
Oh no those illegal wheel greasing schools are awful! If someone could PM me some names so I could avoid them would be great! đ

AFAIK: No school in the country AND no immigration office in the country will issue Non-Immigrant Type visas to someone once they went on amnesty <- and you don't have an "amnesty extension" you have amnesty meaning your original stamp expired and you're allowed to be here until the 31st of July with NO new stamp.
ANY school that can get you the ED visa in country off amnesty is doing it under the table (by greasing the wheel) some how. I'm not saying it's not a real stamp only that above the table you can't get Non-Immigrant visas issued at ANY immigration office from amnesty

I think it would be helpfull for some people if you give more info. You say you are on the automatic visa extension, but I think you mean the amnesty. That is a difference, because when you are on amnesty it means you no longer have a valid visa to change to an Ed visa.
So maybe you could give more info about the visa you had an until what date it was stamped?
I read before some people also have Ed visa for Muay Thai training, and on Google I saw hand to hand combat training Ed visa.đ So maybe a good idea to look for something you would like to do if that is possible. I think language school is actualy very usefull here.

I never had a visa... I had a visa on arrival back in March, then i extended it once, then the Gov't did the automatic visa extensions.
The single entry Non imm ED visa is around 2000bt at most embassys/consulates, subsequent extentions of stay are 1900bt each. Of course there are the study fees for whatever you decide to learn.
yes but we are talking about changing a visa amnesty from that to non o visa without leaving Thailand which costs 14.000 right now all agents are the same ...
I guess the problem is that if you are on amnesty you cannot legally convert to a visa as you do not have a visa anymore. Thus the B 14 k is for tea money.
more than likely. There's going to be a lot of people up shit creek on the 31 July if the borders open and they force all those of amnesty to clear out, even more so if they need special permission to re enter and have 2 weeks on boiled rice in quarantine when allowed in.
I think they will only end amnesty when international flights are readily available and land borders are open. Say for example an foreigner cant return to his/her home country I think further extensions will be given based on embassy letters. For those on amnesty open land borders will mean easy visa runs. They are pragmatic and do not want to chase people/money away when they know it will be difficult to get more tourists in. I think they will create a mini Asean bubble which will allow border/visa runs (most use Laos and Vietnam). This way they can retain "clean" tourist which pose a minimum health risk. My thoughts which is not worth much.
nope cause I ainât used any of them but there are loads of ads on Facebook and a school in chaing mai or the visa centre .. but I canât recommend any of them as I ainât used them
