I wouldn't change the passport man. Can cause hassle for you in Vietnam too. You'd have to report it lost. I don't think you can just change it without a reason bud, I may be wrong.

I don't think it's worth changing your passport. I'd say the ED visa would be a better option. I'm sure you can arrange outside the country.
