Hi,

I wanted to ask about ED visa. Best consulate to go to after the 5th of April. Also, what's needed? Tenancy agreement, landlord blue book, what else?

I heard HCM is a decent spot and also Penang.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry discusses obtaining an ED visa and inquires about the best consulates to visit after April 5th, with mentions of necessary documents such as a tenancy agreement and landlord blue book. Community responses suggest that HCM and Vientiane are viable options, highlighting the importance of specific documents from the school and online booking requirements for certain consulates.

, we are fixing to come into a time when almost ALL the thai consulates are going to close over Songkran so definitely pay attention to the holiday closures BEFORE you slog to a consulate.

Also remember that the thai consulates in Vientiane AND Kuala Lumpur require online booking BEFORE you can use their consulate.

Good Luck..

I did it in Vientiane lately. All they needed was a package of documents from the school, 2 passport page copies and a visa fee. But there is an online registration for a visit to the embassy and you need to apply it in advance

For info consulate in Hanoi is closed on Monday 8 April which probably means HCM will be too.

You need documents from your school, which are addressed to the consul of the Thai Consulate where the school want you to apply. You have to discus this with your school.

Went to HCM last week. Arrived Monday morning around 8:15 at the consulate and I thought I had the wrong address because no one was there. At 8:30 two more people showed up. Gave them a filled in visa application form and the documentation that the school preparedfor me. Cost USD80. Pick up next day, also very fast. Make it a city trip. Saigon is a nice city.;-)

I had a copy of my bankbook with me but they did not ask. Copy of my rental contract was included in the school paperwork. Can't hurt to bring more docs than needed. :)

Ok perfect. Sounds like you'd recommend it. What documents did you need to bring? I have documentation from the school. I have my tenancy and landlord blue book. Do I need a bank statement?
