Hi!

Just wondering where things are at with ED visas at the moment. I'm outside of Thailand at present and was studying Thai for a year previously at a language school.

Ideally I'd like to get enrolled in a year long Thai course at one of the Uni's in Bangkok if they offer that sort of thing.

Im not planning on it until towards the end of the year.

Is Thailand open for ED visas at the moment or will they be later in the year?

If anyone has any Uni recommendations, or language schools as an alternative, please do let me know.

Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
The current status of ED visas in Thailand is that only students enrolled in recognized universities are eligible to apply. Those enrolled in private language schools are not on the approved list for obtaining ED visas or permission to enter Thailand. Recommendations for universities or language schools should be sought from dedicated platforms rather than this forum.

Just a reminder, we do not mention agents in the group. Never, ever trust the advice given by an agent.

Unfortunately this isn't a 'give me some recommendations of places to study" group, it's a thai VISA advice one. I'd suggest posting on a f/b page where you intend to live in thailand and ask for recommendations there :)

At this time <- meaning right now, people who enroll in a private language school are not on the approved list to get an ED visa from a thai consulate OR to request permission to enter the country.

ONLY people who are enrolled in a real university can do those things.

I studied before at a language school in Phuket and it was shite, hence me asking about the Uni. You're saying at the moment people who are accepted at a Uni can apply and enter?

@Gle****
that is exactly what I'm saying, so contact the university you're intending to enroll in and see what their process is to get you enrolled and provide you with documentation to get a 90 day ED visa from a thai consulate in your country
