Oh, I forgot to mention; half or more of the graduates take their TEFL to teach in other countries! The certificate is said to hold good status, in Asean nations, as well as China, Korea. Don't quote me though.
The choices I had was: take an in-house teaching position at the institute, and at a slightly lower salary. The second option was being posted by the institute, outside of the city of Chiang Mai. That could be 30 or more km away. There's pros-cons to those two choices, but, obviously, working in CM is preferred; unless you want the teach-in-small-village job. It's sort of akin to the Peace Corps "feel". That latter used to pay about 29k plus per diem. Not including, the mid-break; you'll need to take up side work at local English accademies, online teaching.
I totally agree. I'm also a heat and cold freak. There's nothing better than a hot steam or dry sauna, and then a cold plunge! I don't care what the weather is like hot or cold.
And another thing: somebody mentioned using the kitchen faucet to put hot water in the tub. that doesn't do anything to keeping the water hot. Having the tub ready to use with proper planning provides a great luxury in the home.
