Ok. I've lived here for 16 years, transferred money from overseas and never had to pay tax or report, other than immigration. But I've retained tax residency in the Commonwealth, so I'm not liable here. Most people transfer pensions which are exempt taxation

@Alberto ******
Why would you be paying tax on these transfers? Are they untaxed income?

@Steve ***
They probably won't accept that. You may need to get the FET from the bank which accepted the incoming transfer before it was transferred to your bank

You only discovered this today? Seriously? It's all good, I think most of this group's members have been aware of this for years!

I print the TM30. I travel a lot - I'm not going to be forever printing TM30s. I use Bangkok Immigration. They don't use TM28

I've lived in Thailand for 16 years, have NEVER done a TM28 as Bangkok Immigration don't use them. The TM30 is actually a landlord or hotel requirement. The information goes into the immigration database, so there is absolutely no requirement to carry a copy in your passport. The only time I print a TM30 is the day before I attend immigration in case it hasn't shown up in their database. I do 90-day reports online - there is no requirement to show a TM30.

Ah ok. I won't allow anyone to staple things into my passport. That's how damage occurs. When I apply for extension I only print my TM30 the day before and present it with the rest of the documents

TM28 is no longer required at most immigration offices, and still no requirement to keep in passport
