Looks like they have delayed the introduction of this according to the press.

It was just easier for us when buying our Condo last week to use an agent. Also 1250 Bahts from that amount is deposited in your account so no big deal.

We will apply for our Non O Retirement Visas when we arrive in December, cheaper than doing it here.

Get an agent to organise opening your bank account. It cost me 5300 Bahts.

pretty straight forward as I knew the couple we bought our Condo from.

Lot of paperwork

You need to open a bank account in Thailand first. I then did an International transfer from my bank in the UK.

It was also handled by a property agents, one who is Thai which makes a difference when visiting the Land Registry Office.

We have just got back home after buying our Condo. Will be moving out there in December 😁

cheers I will try that option when I next transfer some money over to my Bangkok Bank.

So are you using the 'purchase of property' to transfer funds as I have used this option and had no problems but I have just purchased a Condo.

When I want to transfer my pensions across is it best to use that same option or is there another one ?

It does take time for money to show up in your bank account, it took 4 working days for us when transferring a large amount from the UK. Think it went via Kasikorn bank before it arrived in our Bangkok bank accounts.

@Bryan *******
probably do that when we move out here with our Nationwide Building society accounts and take a couple of spare card readers.
