So are you using the 'purchase of property' to transfer funds as I have used this option and had no problems but I have just purchased a Condo.

When I want to transfer my pensions across is it best to use that same option or is there another one ?

It does take time for money to show up in your bank account, it took 4 working days for us when transferring a large amount from the UK. Think it went via Kasikorn bank before it arrived in our Bangkok bank accounts.

@Bryan *******
probably do that when we move out here with our Nationwide Building society accounts and take a couple of spare card readers.

@John ******
Nationwide Building society bank allow you to have any address.

Just need a UK phone number for verification.

Savings have to be in a Current Account only, no interest paid.

What are the two bank accounts that you have been locked out of.

I know Barclays no longer allow you to have an account if moving abroad so I will be closing mine and just using my Nationwide account.

not sure if that would suffice Ivan but that information came from Wise regarding transferring Thai Bahts

my intention was to transfer money to my Wise account and my wife's before we leave the UK (equal amounts).

Once we have opened our Bangkok bank accounts I will transfer the money to both these accounts for the purchase of the Condo.

I hope this works.

@John ******
we are opening bank accounts next month when we arrive. This has all been set up for us and arranged the day after we arrive.

We then need to transfer equal amounts to two bank accounts for us to buy our Condo.

Looking at the rates, Wise looks the best option compared to using my high street bank.
