this is something I didn’t know. I already set up my accounts with my Thai address. I do have a UK address but not a UK phone number which I will need when they send me the verification code to activate my account.
I wonder if I can change to my uk address and use a friends phone number to variety the account?
I have set up my wise account and all looks straight forward.Could I ask one my question you might be able to answer… When you deposit money into a Wise account can you make purchases at retailers (At a shopping centre) ? Or would I need to transfer the money to a Thai bank account and then make the purchase?
thank you very much for the information, funnily enough my next hurdle will be when my PR visa is granted and I go to Australia for work. But I do have a company in place that is going to organise moving money from uk to Oz just they are not sure about transfers to Bangkok.
I was under the impression Revolut and Wise were very similar and actually yes when I used revolut to transfer funds recently they charged much less than using my bank in the UK.. I will set up a wise account and see how I get on..
If you can confirm that when I send a large sum of money to a Thai bank account they do not charge a fee there side then this is a bonus, although I am expecting to be charged some sort of fee somewhere I just don’t want my pants pulled down if you get what I mean.. thanks 🙏
I have a Revolut card which I have used to send money to my partner’s account (only a small amount £200) but when it arrived in her bank they charged 450 THB.. I would just like to know really the best (cheapest) way to transfer from A to B.
