As with a lot of the questions on hear regarding this DTV my question is quiet unique but hope some one might be able to tell me if I stand a good chance of obtaining this visa based on there personal experience .

I am a British passport holder 🇬🇧 and I work for a Uk company that involves me undertaking many different roles, some are physical and some are office based.

My boss has agreed to amend my works contract and state that the company are happy to allow me to carry out my office duties remotely from Thailand.

I have worked on and off for this company for 15 years with my resent employment with them being 3 months.

I meet the financial requirements (500,000 THB in my bank account ) and can also attach my past 3 months pay slips in my application.

What are the chances of my DTV application being successful?

What pacific information would my boss need to include in the contract to satisfy the Thai embassy?

I would really appreciate any positive and helpful feedback in regards to my question.

Many thanks 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a British passport holder, inquires about the likelihood of successfully obtaining a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) for Thailand while working remotely for a UK company. They meet the financial requirements and have documentation that can support their application. Feedback from commenters suggests that providing an employment contract stating remote work permission should suffice for the visa application, and using the eVisa system for DTV under the 'work-cation' category could be an effective approach.

shouldn't have any issue applying thru the eVisa system at the thai consulate in London using the "work-cation" category for the DTV

For 17,500 baht, you can skip having the in your business and knowing what you do.

You can learn Muay Thai for 6 months and then come and go on the 5.5 yes if you maximise it properly.
John ********
Shayne Rochfort actually closer to 6 years

This is only speculation, it is not sure it will work the same as the existing multi entry tourist visa.

@Luit ****************
absolutely nothing to indicate that it won’t.

non-OA is completely different, the visa is only valid one year, and you can extend the stay over and over for a year, that is quite different from DTV. You need reentry permit to get back in during the validity of your stay to get back in, and you need to extend at the right time in Thailand with non-O, completely different fro DTV.

You are the one making assumptions, not me.

You predict what will happen after 5 years, while I tell nobody can know now how it will be implemented for this DTV, so daddy you can better stop presenting this speculation as facts, just present it as your brainwaves is OK.

you have no idea what you’re talking about. Just making things up with false assumptions. Stick to the Dutch forums as those people might believe your bad assumptions and guessing based on absolutely nothing.

@John *******
If you are really that good in predicting what will happen in 5 years, there are a lot better places for you to be than on this forum.

I do not make any assumption at all, maybe you should start learning to read, before you write down this kind of nonsense!

I am not guessing what will happen, you are just guessing things without anything already known.

@John *******
and also absolutely nothing to indicate that it will...

comparing a visa which is valid 5 years with a maximum stay of 180 days with a visa that is only 6 months with maximum stay of 60 days is a bit like comparing apples with oranges, but maybe you are right.

We will know in about 5 years.

Besides, why would you spend 1900 THB for 180 days extra, while you get for
*****
5 years?

@Luit ****************
I didn’t compare it to a tourist visa but other long terms visas such as a Non OA.

So everything indicates that on the last day of the visa you can enter and get 180 days and extend another 180. This is how they work. Stop making up assumptions based on nothing boy
Luit *****************
Shayne Rochfort Why should you? If you qualify for workcation that is the easiest way to get DTV. This is where the visa is meant for in the first place.

I believe that if you submit your employment contract that states you can work remotely then you should be fine. They may ask for additional documents, but they may not.
