Thanks for your help. I was hoping that statements from my pension provider would be acceptable.
Until I can travel back to the UK and settle my affairs there, mainly selling my house, I have too much in outgoings via direct debits in the UK. Therefore out of the 40k I would, for the time being, be sending almost half back to cover UK bills.
However, at least I know where I stand so thanks again for your help.
I know how you feel. The UK is a madhouse and heading for another lockdown. I'm due to return next month and I'm on the at risk list, just hope I can claim medical asylum here.
Don't forget TM30 if staying with friends etc. It seems this should be completed within 24 hrs of arrival. Never heard of it before and my partner was 'fined' or surcharged 1600 baht for not completing it when I arrived.
Of course it is never a problem until you apply for an extension.
I got my letter a couple of days ago and a nice apology for the delay. You can email the FCO and they respond very quickly indeed, a link is on the Embassy website. Now have my visa extension.
I was advised to open the account in a branch in your own country first. My friend from USA opened his in New York branch of Bangkok Bank. Hope that helps.
