TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether various embassies in Thailand charged fees for letters necessary for visa applications during the pandemic. Responses indicate a mix of outcomes: many embassies, such as those from Taiwan, Sweden, UK, Germany, Australia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, issued letters for free, while others, like the Netherlands, charged varying amounts (50 euros, 1700 baht), and some, like the Canadian and French embassies, refused to issue letters entirely. The issue reflects the changing policies and practices of embassies in response to the COVID-19 situation.

Our Embassy (Philippines) issued it for free and can be applied online. If approved, they will email the letter in PDF for us to easily print. Very efficient! πππ

Malaysian embassy wont issue anymore letters. Its get a visa now or go back. The thai immigration had a meeting with all the embassies and came to deal that no embassy is to give out letters anymore unless for severe cases.
