Hi - if travelling back from Thailand to U.K., but changing planes in UAE, does anybody know if you have to quarantine on arrival? Thailand is now on the exempt list, but UAE not. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion revolves around travel from Thailand to the UK with a transit in the UAE. It highlights that transit passengers generally do not need to quarantine in the UAE if they remain in the airport, although a PCR test may be required for transit. The UK has relaxed some quarantine measures, requiring only a form to be filled upon arrival for travelers from high-risk countries. The conversation also touches on general concerns about travel amidst the ongoing pandemic.

And then get on a plane for 7-8 hours sharing the same air as new passengers who now travel with you from wherever. I think you would have been at risk, so should isolate

there is no real quarantine in the UK. borders have been open throughout the pandemic. even arrivals from high risk countries just fill out a form promising to stay home unless they need to go out outside and not to use public transport unless they don't have a car. and i'm not kidding.

10k fine now.

there are more than two countries in the world. Nothing stopping anyone there heading to Mexico, Canary Islands, Cyprus etc.

@Dom****
yes - except for small issues Covid exposure, personal and family risk, testing, quarantine, limited flights, high costs of air travel now, similar issues with immigration on arrival, lack of understanding of pandemics... otherwise all is good right? Good advice mate ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

As an aside, I have retirement visas here and Mexico, where my home is. I just helped advise a couple about Canary Islands, helped 2 other couples sort out transition to Turkey.

I know how you feel. The UK is a madhouse and heading for another lockdown. I'm due to return next month and I'm on the at risk list, just hope I can claim medical asylum here.
