Of course there are, e.g. in Germany the Internationaler Führerschein, which translates to International Driving License. Nothing bogus here.

National driving licenses are not necessarily accepted in other countries. It depends on country of origin and on the foreign country where the national license is used.

Of course, the Embassy of your home country will issue a replacement passport after your requesting one.

The translation of the national drivers license is called International Drivers License. You get it at the Vehicle Registration Office (bringing your passport photo). In Germany.

The O stands for "Other", yes, but the A stands for "Annum", which means "year". The Non-O A is valid for 1 year at entry.

The residence can also be proven by showing the yellow housebook. Then the Immigration visit is not necessary.

I have to look at mine at home what the English title says. In German, it is called "Internationaler Führerschein" which translates to International driving license (Google Translate). And yes, of course it is a translation of the local driving licence detailing which classes of cars and motorbikes can be driven.

No, it is not issued by motoring clubs, but at the motor vehicle registration office. You have to bring your own pass photo and after the application, it will be produced for you to take with you the same day. It is like this in Germany.
