I've not emigrated. I get free NHS prescriptions and medication. But I buy stuff in Thailand when there. Other than medication for major health issues, I treat myself for most things at home.
I was in siam.legals office and 14k was what they quoted for opening the bank account. I wasn't doing the visa. She may have made a mistake, but she told my Thai friend in Thai and me in English.
Have you checked their fees? They wanted 14,000 to open a bank account for me. Crazy money. I did it with help from a Thai person. How much have siam legal quoted to do paperwork for visa?
so happy you live your cat enough to bring it with you.
I contacted an agent in BKK. They also deal with the bank, but I've set up my bank account on my last visit and can now deposit my money before I head over next year. I'll be taking my dog too. He's disabled and no one wanted him because he's got wonky legs. 🐕
they really need to spend some time getting their ducks in a row. Just turning up, with a cat, and starting the bank account and "retirement" stuff, with no real idea maybe isn't wise.
so the 800,000 is already in a Thai bank account? You really need to check the process through thoroughly. Have you got the import paperwork done for the cat yet? Import Where are you going to live, is it cat friendly?
