I am planning to relocate to Bangkok at the end of this year when my apartment lease ends. I will be applying for the DTV Visa as a digital nomad and will have 500k+ Thai Baht in liquid funds by the end of this month or early November, with plans to continue increasing that balance. I want to make sure I meet the three-month requirement before applying, but in the meantime, is it possible to move on a tourist visa and then travel to Vietnam or Indonesia for a week to switch to the Destination Thailand Visa? Also, do landlords typically accept a tourist visa for a one-year lease? I completely understand if not, but I wanted to know, since Airbnb or hotels, especially as I am bringing my dog, would be much more expensive. Has anyone experienced a similar situation, but got their DTV visa? Which country do you guys prefer when I go abroad to get the visa? Indonesia or Vietnam? Thank you!!!

Hi, I'm looking for advice from those US expats who changed their legal residence to a no income tax state prior to relocating to Thailand. I'm currently living in NY State and do not want to get hit with state tax on any future 401k withdrawals. Is there a recommended way to avoid this without physically moving to a non tax state? Thank you!

I am looking to relocate to thai early next year. Atm if I can prove monthly income of $3000 a month though I may have the 500,000 thb saved up before then but if I don't before I need to leave is the $3000 monthly sufficient ? to get a DTV VISA ? And I researched it's validity is 6 months at a time. Is visa runs legal ? Let's say I go to Vietnam for a few days and return to restart a new entry ??? Please advice

Hello everyone! I'm brand new to this group and in the early stages of looking into relocating to Thailand!

I'm looking to relocate with my mother and myself. She's of retirement age, so any information regarding visa options for retirees would be so super helpful.

I currently work virtually as a nutritionist and am looking into starting my own business.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, my husband and I will be heading to Bangkok from the UK in July. I'm a teacher and will be on a non-immigrant B visa whilst my husband will be on a non-immigrant O visa. I've searched on various websites but cannot work out if any of our documents need to be notarised in order to get our visas approved. All of the original documents were issued in the UK. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hi, I was hoping someone could provide me with some advice on what visa I could possibly get for relocating to Thailand.

Myself, wife (thai) and daughter are looking at moving from the UK to Thailand.

My wife has been in the UK for 10+ years, holds both a uk and thai passport. Our daughter only holds a uk passport as do I.

For my work I travel overseas for long periods of time so my visa requirements would have to accommodate for this.

Any advice would be appreciated.
