He's here on an examption not a visa so he can't convert what he doesn't have to a Non-O correct? He would have to leave the country to get a visa and come back.

Yeah man, that's why my head was spinning. I actually would have done all the personal copies crap myself but did not really want to chase down my landlord over the next few days and harass her and found it hard to believe that's what all foreigners are doing every time they leave town for 24 hours.

Be prepared for awesome questions. When I was there they asked me since I was from Phuket why I didn't do my border run from there. I told the IO Phuket doesn't border any other countries. Rather dumbfounded he stamped me in.
