Evi Ruthenbeck I think that you applied tor a 30 day extension to you exemption rather than a visa, Thanks anyway. I need to go on Monday to renew my (so called) retirement visa.

He should not wait. A real problem if they catch him before he goes to Immigration. Why take the risk? And YES. They can refuse to extend his visa. If so, they will give him 7 days (including that day) to leave Thailand.

He is currently on overstay. If caught by Immigration or the police, he faces large fine, jail, deportation and ban from entering Thailand in the future. He needs to go to Immigration ASAP and pay his overstay fine of 500 thb per day and apply for an extension.

The Problem, my friend, is that Immigration consider that your stays in Thailand indicate that you are more than a tourist but staying on back to back tourist visas and extensions. If you want to return to Thailand after your current visa and extension, then you will need to obtain a visa more suited to longer term stay in the country.
