Why was my DTV only issued until my passport expiration instead of 5 years?

some countries only issue 5 year passports, so if they've had their passport for 1 years, then they expect you to renew your passport to get a 5 year visa?. Sounds odd.

The wording in the Thai Embassy Canberra website for a DTV visa "Valid passport, with at least 6 months validity, from arrival date"

🤣tell the Auatralian government also then. Why complain when Australia still require you to carry a pen on the plane, but don't dare bring your own water from inside the departure side of the boarding gate.
