yes it wasn't the best finding out i cant access my money till I get to bank with required documents which they already have, since June. I'm laying in hospital rent now in arrears as is water and electric won't be out of hospital for about a week after surgery tomorrow. I spoke to my branch and there is no exception. So I'll be banking with another bank before I get to BB

Go for a non O retirement visa apply via online in Australia it's initially 90 days once in Thailand apply for extension of stay. You do not have to have compulsory health insurance with this in Thailand and for 6mths its less than $1000 aud for travel insurance which is good coverage for everything except jet ski and a couple of other dangerous pastimes. I use Qantas travel insurance as it covers motorcycle riding.

After your visa is granted from Thai embassy in your home country you after banking sorted apply for extension of stay. Some countries you can keep your money in home bank if you get proof of income established before you leave

just apply for a non "O" retirement visa from your home country usually done via internet. You could pay an agent in your home country to do this, you will need some documentation over and above passport eg proof of income. This is initially a 90 day visa, once you arrive in Thailand go to your local immigration office get the list of their requirements for extension of stay. Fulfill requirements then lodge paperwork and once it's granted you only have to report every 90 days. There are visa agents in Thailand that for a small amount of money would assist in lodging extension of stay documentation and do your 90 day reporting
