That's never going to happen. The Thai Visa system is corrupt with fraud through and through. Fraud is committed every day by visa agents across the country. No-one is going to worry about the location of a person when they made an online application!

The queue for DTVs at Vientiane begins at Udon Thani. Is this the most successful visa in Thai history?
Jim ********
DTV is an eVisa so you'll be sent the visa as a PDF document. If you're already in the country on a visa-exempt entry, just do a border bounce to activate the DTV.

Great choice of visa. The DTV will change the demographics of the Thailand expat population!

Looks like the DTV is selling like hot cakes! "Flying off the shelf" as they say. 👍👍

I've no idea what a border run costs. There's no charge to re-enter Thailand, so I guess it's whatever the bouncing country charges?

The DTV suits retirees who travel a lot as I do. I will still transfer 80k each month which I do now, that's no problem, but as I'm in and out of Thailand like a yo-yo there's no compulsion for me to be present in Thailand at "extension time". There's no trips to immigration every 12 months which is a plus, and the DTV pays for itself. At the moment I pay 3800 baht per year for re-entry permit plus 1900 baht per year for extension, so 5700 per year over five years is

baht for DTV. So I look on it as being paid

not to have to visit immigration! It's a no-brainer

I don't know why people continue to argue this point. An immigration officer has the right to deny entry if he is not satisfied the person will leave Thailand within the period of stay. Airlines are aware of this so many won't allow boarding without seeing evidence of an outward journey, because they are responsible for returning the person back to the point of origin. Sure, we're all aware you may not be asked, but there's a possibility you will. My own experiences I find Qatar at Berlin always asks for proof, Singapore Airlines in Sydney always ask. It's hit and miss. I regularly drive at 160km/hr between Bangkok and Rayong. Never been booked, but I'm not going to tell people "hey it's never happened to me, so you'll be ok". People just need to be aware

Agreed. He also said extend to 60 or 90. A bit confusing. I'm sure he'll work it out!
