I think the Elite Company provides opening bank account services, and it's included in their fees.

It's required, but you won't be asked unless you want to get immigration services like extensions, certificates of residence, etc.

Just use an agent, but I would question the need for a bank account in Thailand except for scanning, which can be accomplished using cash. I have two bank accounts, and I stopped sending money to them except once in a while to keep them active. Now I exclusively use US bank-issued CC (multiple advantages like fraud protection, cash back, etc.) whenever possible, or I withdraw cash from ATMs using a US-issued ATM card (ATM fees are refunded). I started doing this after COVID-19 and never felt any need for Thai bank accounts.

Mike Vineyard I am not here to post rules. Why are you asking questions here, then? You don't know how to find rules for your visa application. I think you want to cheat and are trying to get approval from others. As I said, it's up to you. You want to cheat; go ahead and cheat, but there can be consequences for that; if not caught, you will win.

The rule remains the same. Of course, you can always cheat but lying in a visa application is a criminal offense and can be barred from entering for the lifetime. Do it at your own risk? Are you so desperate that you cannot even go to a neighboring country, or you are doing it for academic exercise?

The rule for the eVisa is the same also. You can apply where you're located. It does not matter if it is eVisa or not.

You are supposed to apply for DTV to the embassy/consulate where you are located when applying. Do you see a Thailand Embassy/Consulate in Thailand? If you can find one in Thailand, you can apply there.

The online system eliminates people who don't want to double check everything before submitting their application.

certificate of residence is dime a dozen for 500 baht.

You don't need any visa to buy anything in Thailand.
