I agree totally! When I started with them they were a whole lot cheaper. That was back when I was younger and healthier and they hadn’t been taken over by another company. Now since I’m sick they have me trapped. I can’t afford to do without it, but I’m having trouble affording keeping it. I’d jump to another company, even if they weren’t as good, but nobody else will insure me.
Yeah! They’re expensive! They’re killing me too! But I’m older and I’ve got lot’s of problems. And no one else will insure me, so I’m stuck with them. But it really is good insurance!
I have a company called Passport. They’re out of Germany. I’m 67 years old and have everything wrong with me.
I’m currently paying $856 per month. But with that I get $2.5 million in coverage. They cover just about everything and I’ve never been denied. They’ll pay for both being in the hospital and out patient.
There’s no deductible. They give me a credit card to use to pay my medical bills. When I leave the hospital I get the bill. I then call Passport and have them top off the card for that amount. I then pay the bill. That’s the last I hear about it. I’ve never had a problem.
They’re accepted everywhere. I’ve used them at several hospitals in Pattaya and Bumrungrad Hospital up in Bangkok.
I live in Bang Saray and have only used my monthly pension to get a visa for the last 9 years. This year I was in Bangkok and decided to renew it up there. The lady in charge insisted that I needed to have both the monthly income and a bank account. I had to go back to Bang Saray to have it done in Jomtien with no trouble. But because of the idiot in Bangkok, I was late and had to pay a fine.
I know that I may be a little biased already living here and all, but I’d be stoked to be sent off to Thailand! He has a skill, he knows the language, he can liquidate all his credit. What’s not to like? Plus he’ll probably have a hot girlfriend by next week!
