Well done for getting the visa. I'm guessing your employment situation didn't neatly fit into a tick box. Timescales wise, I also applied on the 10th September in London and it was approved within 24hrs, I guess I did fit nearly into their tick box.

tbh you can say that about any Thai visa. Why not be totally legal when the DTV is easy to get and quite cheap?

I do worry about some agents motives, do they actually suggest the best solution for you, or just the solution that potentially makes them most money.

You definitely cannot work remotely on a retirement visa, you can on a DTV.

You just need to leave the country every 180, but you can return immediately.

Just got my DTV from London.

- I provided a PDF of my most recent bank statement, this only listed the last months transactions.

- I included my employment contract - it does list the I can remotely. I'm sure a letter confirming you can work remotely would be fine.

- They were very quick, I got it in about 36hrs.

I provided my most recent bank statement which was for only 1 month. This was accepted in London.

Quick very positive update - I left Thailand yesterday and submitted my DTV online application as soon as I got to the UK. My Visa arrived this evening, less than 24 hours later. 🙂

I have time when back in the UK to apply and (hopefully) get the visa. If I apply while in Thailand I risk having 2 visas which I think is a big no no.

Yes, London does seem fast, it's slightly annoying I would be breaking the rules if I applied for it now (online from Thailand)

Thank you, I don't have a re-entry permit at the moment. So that should work.
