Foreigners who enter Thailand under this Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme may only do so for 30 days at one time with a maximum of 3 times in a 6-month period by flight and 2 times a year for overland crossing.
The general rule of thumb is 6 months total out of a given calendar year can one remain in the Kingdom in what is ostensibly or could only be described as "tourist" status; so either a tourist visa or a visa exemption stamp depending on the country of one's nationality.
i thought a few years ago, the govt did put limits on tv via land crossings and upon arrival, like one could spend only so many days in the country on a tv?? Incorrect?
if involved in an accident with serious property or body damage, no license means no insurance coverage, and can result in serious financial or criminal charges. As some have advised, how can anyone know that a "one off" six hour plus drive will be completed without incident? Is it worth the gamble?
Also, an important question, and can prove critical to a farang driver, do you have additional private insurance for ur car, beyond the minimal that comes with the annual registration? Even with another driver, this insurance is still needed.
