What are the current requirements for Non-O visa renewal in Thailand, particularly regarding bank verification?

After 16 years in Thailand, I am well aware of the changeability of government regulations here and I know that what worked last year for visa renewal might or might not work now. This is important because I am due. Since many posts are not dated, it is hard to know what information is current. In particular, I am concerned with the apparently contradictory requirement for what I need from my bank to verify my monthly transfers. Last year, a printout from the bank of all transfers for the year sufficed. Now I have read in some places that more is required. Can anyone recommend a site with up-to-date information?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat with 16 years in Thailand is seeking current information on the renewal requirements for their Non-O visa, specifically related to bank verification of monthly transfers. There are indications that requirements have changed, with some sources suggesting that a detailed bank statement is now necessary. Community responses provide insights into specific local immigration office requirements and the ongoing confusion regarding health insurance mandates related to visa extensions.

Just received my yearly vis, but I am on a type O retirement visa, had to get letter from Bangkok bank head office listing all transfers in, a statement saying they were international transfers, they then copied every page of my bank book, cost 209 baht, 7 days later went back received documents, paid another 100 baht, and visa issued at Chiangmai immigration immediately, hope this helps

To Stuart Cumming Admin. Hello. I use the IO in Jomtien. I arrived in Thailand in December 2003 on a non O-A retirement visa from the Thai Consulate in Sydney. . Did a quick return trip to Australia in May 2009. Am now 78 and have had health insurance 1 m baht here since before I turned 60. From what I read above you say that compulsory health insurance certificate would not be required in my case when extending my one year stay. However the IO here insists. The new outpatient insurance of 40,000 baht costs me 32,000 baht and the exclusions make it worthless. Can you provide the actual law that supports your advice ? I would like to show it to the IO and save some money and unnecessary hassles. Thank you. This post is dated 03 March 2022.

Thanks for responding. Non-O Pattaya. The apparently new requirement is for "copy bank book name page and last 12 months transactions." I didn't need in any previous year.

Not sure what extension you are applying for. These are the requirements for the Phuket office.

If you use a different office then their requirements might differ slightly.

I can't cite the law that requires Phuket Immigration to grandfather people who were on an extension derived from a Non-OA issued before 2017, but that does seem to be the policy of Phuket Immigration. I've not heard that the same grandfathering policy is in effect at any other immigration office, including Jomtien, unfortunately.
