Hello, I have a question for tourists visa to Thailand. Is it possible to get a 3-months tourist visa and then get out and apply another 3-months visa and then do the same after 3 months? Is there a limit to apply for this 3 months visa? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the possibility of obtaining multiple 3-month tourist visas in Thailand consecutively and whether there are limits to this practice. Responses indicate that while there may not be a strict limit on reapplying for tourist visas, concerns about the intention behind frequent visits might arise during visa application processes or at immigration checkpoints. Individuals have shared personal experiences of 'back-to-back' visa applications, highlighting changing regulations, potential entry refusals, and suggestions to consider alternative visa options.

Just went to cambodia after a 1 year ed visa and back on a tourist visa. Had to stay in cambodia for a week.

That is call back-to-back tourist visas.

I did that for a few years (3 or 4), then covid happened and

things have changed. The changes are not well understood. In this channel someone is doing the same thing, using Cambodia as the destination to get their next visa.

When I was doing back-to-back visa I went to some other country for 2+ weeks. Its really a great way to see other countries. Some countries will provide you visas others will not. I think China will not. Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Australia, All neighboring countries, Vietnam, etc. etc. will provide you a visa.

It used to be quite easy and a good alternative to Elite visa. However things have changed and who knows what will be required.

I recently pulled a tourist visa from the USA (my home country) and did it all online. Somebody in this group said they pulled their visa from the USA while being outside of the USA, you may not even need to be in the other country when you apply for your visa.

Many people in this group will offer you an opinion without much experience. You will always be taking a risk with back-to-back visa, you should have a plan B. You can be denied entry at the Thai airport, meaning you are stuck in an airport. Sometimes they will 'eject' you (I dont think its technically deportation). You will be forced to fly to any other country, you maybe forced to fly to your home country- at your expense.

Sometimes people are denied entry at a land border. This requires you go back to your hotel and try again at a different border, or same boarder different day.

My husband (not Thai) will have a non immigrant O following his Thai kid. Consulate said I can’t get a non O so it looks like only solution is multiple tourist visas, education or open my own company?

. Open your own company? The expense involved in that you might be better off getting an Elite Visa

Just a point of clarification. There isn't a 3 month tourist visa. There's a 60 day tourist visa that can be extended one time for 30 additional days.

My amount of stamps despite being very long due to covid still generate concern. If I change passport I think it will be less of an issue. But same I think will apply to visa

Niclas Sandström. Do not kid yourself that changing passports will make a difference. Your photo and fingerprints bring up your immigration record. Changing passports can actually create more problems because the Immigration Officer will immediately suspect you are trying to hide something

I carry a shitty passport and needs visa sticker (1page) most of the time so changing passport often is a usual thing. It doesn’t matter really. Your entry to a country is on the immigration system, not on your passport.

running out of pages is not uncommon... If you change every year maybe.

Niclas Sandström. The point I'm making is that every individual who enters Thailand has a record with Thai immigration. I have triple nationality, and have entered with three different passports. One time the immigration officer at Suvarnabhumi commented that I'd changed nationality since my previous visit. It was his way of telling me they've got me noted

i thought a few years ago, the govt did put limits on tv via land crossings and upon arrival, like one could spend only so many days in the country on a tv?? Incorrect?
Sammy *******
just read this:

Foreigners who enter Thailand under this Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme may only do so for 30 days at one time with a maximum of 3 times in a 6-month period by flight and 2 times a year for overland crossing.

The general rule of thumb is 6 months total out of a given calendar year can one remain in the Kingdom in what is ostensibly or could only be described as "tourist" status; so either a tourist visa or a visa exemption stamp depending on the country of one's nationality.

Yup as many times as you like, until they say no. Probably Unlikely they will though, as they want tourists / people to come and spend cash
Mike *******
@Ian ****
bahahaha. You know nothing about Thailand visas, if you think it's unlimited.
Ian *****
@Mike ******
"until they say no". Who can't read !!!
Mike *******
@Ian ****
ok pal. Stop trying to justify a silly comment. You said as many as you want, which is highly incorrect. But try to spin it anyway you like. Still look foolish. Kinda like your comments. You can post as many as you like bahahahaha
Ian *****
@Mike ******
jeez you appear to be thick or just bored. I said as many times as you like until they say no. How clear can that be,
Ian *****
@Mike ******
did I say that ? Try reading my comment
Mike *******
@Ian ****
sorry. Your comment is even more foolish the 2nd time I read it. "as many time as you like". Bahahahaha. How can someone be so wrong.
Bobby ********
Ian Hay. You have much to learn about Thai culture. It's not about wanting people to spend cash. If this was the case, they would not now be kicking out the "covid extensioners". Thai immigration do not give a stuff about people spending money in the country
Ian *****
@Bobby *******
given I don't work for Thai immigration I can't obviously answer your question .
Bobby ********
Ian Hay. You don't have to work for immigration to see what they are doing. Just ask those foreigners who are being given their marching orders to leave the country (taking their money with them) 😆
Ian *****
@Bobby *******
you must live in a cave somewhere.if you believ Thialand doesn need tourism and the cash it brings .
Bobby ********
Ian Hay. I think you have some reading difficulties. Nowhere did I say Thailand doesn't need tourism. What I said was Thai Immigration doesn't care about people spending money in Thailand. Perhaps you can explain why so many people who have been on lengthy covid visa extensions are now being told to leave?
Stuart *********
You can leave and re apply straight away for another tourist visa at a Thai embassy/consulate somewhere. There is not set limit on how many times you could do this. However at some point someone may question your intentions. Either at the embassy for visa approval or at immigration on arrival. If they think you’re trying to buck the system they may refuse you entry.
