Do I need new insurance to re-enter Thailand with my minor son after exiting for a visa issue?

Found out my minor son needs to leave the country due to a visa mix up (immigration made a mistake). Since he is a minor, I have to go with him. I have a Non O visa, and am unvaxinated. If we go to Laos or something, will I need to get new insurance to re-enter (since my visa is still valid) or will my son (since he will be getting a new visa)?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is concerned about re-entering Thailand with their unvaccinated minor son after a visa mix-up. They hold a Non-O visa and inquire if they need to obtain new insurance for re-entry after traveling to Laos. The discussion includes comments on insurance requirements, quarantine rules in surrounding countries, and clarification about minors' visa statuses.

Minors don't need a visa. There are no ramifications for overstay.

To clarify, I've been here a year, so I no longer have insurance. The question was, if I go to a neighboring country to take care of my minor child's visa issue, would we have to get new insurance to return. I think I have my answer.

Check the insurance wording and see if it allows for re-entry. If it's one of the Thai ones I think it becomes invalid when you exit.

Hopefully I missed something but Laos will require you to be vaxxed as do most of the closer countries. You'll be looking at 5 to 14 days of quarantine not including your return. When I looked the other day the UK is one of the places with no quarantine just need an additional test.

If your insurance doesn't meet the USD50k coverage for covid then yes you will need to get another one.
