I have a Thai wife (registered etc) has a large amount of rai and a house on top of that was left to her from her deceased parents. Seen the property, the house ect...👍 Been to the land council in Udon Thani etc, spent the money to get it translated to English etc. I have a house in Australia... we will rent a Condo/house etc for the next year or two...then we take it from there. My beautiful wife understands the generic misconception of the farrang/Thai issue...BUT we both have something to contribute and fulfill our dream of a cafe/coffee shop... We are both very happy and look forward to our future in Thailand...(I'm 53, wife 44)...

For the millionth time in a week... it's 3 days (72hrs) before hand. It's not that hard, if you want to leave your homeland and travel abroad, know your shit..🤔

ta mate... Thanks heaps. I will look into this as that suits me... I'm not after a retirement visa as that is suitable at this stage.

I'm currently with BHP on 8:6, but simply can't do what you do but looking at my options that are more suitable for the both of us.

CNI Document completed...👍 Take that, divorce papers and copy of passport, they review and approve with legal stamps etc, can take a day or 2 to be ready for collection. Translate all these from English to Thai can take up to a week and around 2000thb per page...👍

Just been through this process.

1. Take CNI (proof you are single) and passport, if married before, original copy of Divorce Papers to your Embassy (my case Australian). They will review and approve, collect the next day.

2. Take paperwork to be translated to Thai, this can take a week.

3. Go to Amphur, make an appointment. The 1st appointment is an interview with you both, proof of marriage/relationship, review documents etc. Another appointment is then made to attend and register.

4. Attend Amphur with wife, 2 x Thai witnesses and possibly a translator. We had all documents, photos of ceremony etc. This took 4hrs to get all paperwork done and get Marriage Certificates and Marriage Registration papers.

Amphurs are booked out months in advance for marriage registrations etc, please don't expect to make an appointment and everything will be done on the spot.

We saw many people turned away whilst we were there, no proper paperwork, no witnesses, no translator, just thought they could rock up to the Amphur and get married in Thailand...

Hopefully the vet talks some sense into you, very selfish of you to take a 18yo dog who is deaf and blind on a trip..

unforgettable alright, won't be able to see or hear anything...

It's bloody 18yrs old, the plane trip will kill it through anxiety at that age.
