I opened my account with kbank 13 years ago on my own and with a tourist visa as they allowed it back then. Recently I needed a new bank book and I asked if they needed to see my long term visa and the reply was "no need". This account has never been frozen.

this. I am on a retirement visa. I do my 5 months or so in 1 hit so I know exactly how many days I stay in Thailand each year. What I would do in your case is count the number of days for each visit you do and then make sure you never go over 180 days per calendar year. That way you not be considered to be a tax resident for Thailand. I like you also earn money from my investments from home which are taxed at home and my taxes are paid at home. Yes my country also has a dual tax agreement with Thailand but I don't want to go there and start doing that. My way of avoiding all the Thai tax grab is not to stay over 180 days a year, I couldn't handle doing tax both at home and there. Good luck.

i am a Australian Taxpayer, ours just shows income for all shares and interest. ie. It shows Total taxable income on the Tax Return the tax office sends us. It doesn't say where it comes from.

i am retired here but I own shares and other income producing assets. By law I must lodge a tax return back home when then shows this as income but I am fully retired. So how does that work then?

you can still work outside of Thailand even though you have a retirement non o visa.

You do an evisa online. Look for non o visa, then click other, then click pensioner over 50 years of age. No requirement for health insurance or police check.

it's all done online. You will be directed to the Thai Embassy in Canberra. I live in NSW and mine was directed to the Sydney Consulate. Got a non o in 3 days. Then when I got there I got the extension of stay. Way easier and cheaper to do it that way.
