How challenging is it to obtain a Non-O visa in Thailand for retirement?

I cannot get a bank account while here. I went to 5 banks and they all said the same thing—“you need the proper visa to get an account” (not a visitor visa). So I need to leave Bangkok in a few days to see if I can get a non-O from home
