thailand is also making changes to income being moved into thailand i would also consult with a tax lawyer in thailand to make sure the money moved into savings isnt taxable either 🤔
so I have a question on things like a DTV and there is a savings requirement there and a UK citizen has never been to thailand how then does one supply proof of savings account with no thai bank account if UK government doesnt verify savings / income
Its about personal choice, I went the ed route with self defense. I was able to upgrade to ED visa while in thailand on visa exempt. DTV you cant.
I started the ed visa upgrade after a few days on my arrival and got it back just before my visa exempt expired. It takes about 2 months turn around.
I spent my time on visa exempt exploring and enjoying my time here while I had free time. Once my Ed visa was approved I started taking classes.
The down side is the 1 yr ed visa stamp is good for 3 months and you have to renew it 1900 baht every three months AND still do 90 day check in.
The school you apply to should help you with the paper work and fees associated in the school fees.
DTV you have to apply for it outside thailand and you get 180 days before you either extend or leave and come back. I urge people to keep the money in savings at all times.
Immigration has been asking to verify the savings amount required and if you dont have it they will deny entry and cancel your DTV.
Keep it in your UK bank you can do that. For DTV and retirement visa you dont have to have it in a thai bank. Just have to get your state office / embassy to certify it with statements.
Also for retirement visa you can also just verify monthly income of
*****
baht or a combination of the two
If you wish it in a thai bank and you have one in your name you can wire transfer it from bank to bank will be fees.
Money being in a thai bank just means less steps
I would also look into the tax law with thailand and make sure the money you move over into savings also doesnt trigger tax payment at the end of year
clearly you dont understand their question critical thinking is a must.
They have not been here and dont understand terminology.
They are looking for a 1 yr visa and they exist. Its called a retirement visa and I know many people who only stay in thailand 3-5 months of the year with a Non-o A visa for "holiday" reasons to escape winter back home. Again critical thinking is a must
no i gave him time and didnt make any opinion of him till about a month being here, honestly every comment he has ever made to me since I proved him wrong with IDP in thailand he has been out trolling me.
wasn't simply to prove him wrong I was answering another person's question and he kept insisting im wrong and I'm not.
Since then he has been nothing but a troll and when he comments on me now I show him no resoect for the simple fact hes wrong and he doubles down on being wrong.
For example in this post I was giving info to people who cant get a bank account in the same situation im in and not here as a tourist, how to withdraw funds in excess of atm limits and not get raped by fees... he decided to make a show and I put him to shame cause he lacks common sense and just trolls for the hell of it.
Holds a grudge when he doesnt need to he was wrong on something move on but he cant admit he was wrong and showing evidence he isnt here in thailand at all only operating off information on-line which is vague at best
