certainly you’d get a free room,, service not as you might expect though, no set menu and the rooms are quite small at Bang Kwang aka

“the Bangkok Hilton”

I entered yesterday this being my second application ,,,

checkin staff on this occasion at Doha initially asked I complete the process and show the barcode before checking in for the flight but I informed them not necessary to be completed prior to checking in, so no issue.

My first application when I entered a couple days after the procedure started, I didn’t receive the barcode but had note of the ref number which wasn’t required by immigration anyway since they hold all the info in the system.

still a low % of passengers get pulled, I travel out/in on a near monthly basis, have done this for 17 years, I carry around two pieces total 35kg - 40kg luggage each time and only been checked once in all those years, on the other hand yes of course the likelihood would increase if carrying more luggage.

more to the point, was the QR code strategically placed, at least that way you could more closely inspect the merchandise before paying

those you hear complaining are likely those that can’t afford to stay in Thailand since both those countries are cheaper to live in.

that was a sales gimmick, I refused the policy as I already had insurance cover and still got the account opened

It can certainly help, the important things are that she can prove a need to return ( job being one) and sufficient financials to support her stay whether that’s evidence of your own to financially support her stay or better still financials from her.

My wife collected her visa on one occasion and there was a married couple we spoke with UK/Thai who were rejected on their previous application, they’d been together coming on 15 years and owned a small hotel in thailand for a number of years, I’d assume financials would be in order for them having the hotel for a few years, and that would certainly prove a need to return, so it’s important that the correct information with evidence is provided and verified before submission.

I did a google search on it and the age limit suggests it’s over 70’s but certainly worth a try if I do run into a busy immigration hall.

wow, been in/out almost monthly for 16-17 years and wasn’t aware of that, and never pulled over, mind you just last couple years since over 60, maybe because I’m still looking a Hansum man and don’t look 60 even though I bloody feel it,,, 😆

I guess not so relevant now as before since on my recent entries there’s never been more than 3-5 people in front of me at the immigration booth.
