there is a special "Destination Thailand Visa" Facebook group, focussed on DTV only, where you will most probably receive a guaranteed answer regarding the seasoning requirement of the Royal Thai Embassies & Consulates in the various neighbouring countries of Thailand

to have the 500,000 THB equivalent in one's account is a fixed requirement, but how long it has to have been in the account differs from embassy to embassy, as THAT question is not specified in the overall requirement list. Some embassies want to see a 6-months seasoning, others a 3 months seasoning, and some do require no seasoning at all. . . How long a seasoning is required from a specific embassy, where you plan to apply by their e-visa system, you need to email them and inquire

for the O/A visa, the deposit in the account must be 800,000 THB equivalent in Euros. Or proof of a monthly income of 65,000 THB equivalent in Euros.

He has neither the required money in the bank, nor a sufficient income - he said he earns 50,000 THB. He can however apply for the "support of half Thai child" visa - the Non-Imm-O Family visa, based on his income. In France, he can use his original pernsion documents, and on the Immigration in Thailand for the application to the "one-year extension", he can use the "affidavit of income" from the French Embassy in Bangkok

having a half Thai child doesn't cut any ice with Thai Immigration, as long as the OP continues to enter visa exempt. The OP however always had the option to apply for the right visa on the purpose "supporting a half Thai child", and change it into a "1-year stay permit". I don't know why he never made any attempt to get this visa and the subsequent extension, since the birth of his son he is free to use this option. He said he is making 50,000 THB per month on a soldier's pension, this income is enough to get him the 90-days Non-Imm-O family visa, and the 1-year Extension of stay based on supporting a half Thai child. Brandon is VERY correct in telling him that for the Thai Immigration, to have a half Thai child born out of wedlock, there is NO reason to allow him multiple visa-exempt entries, and that's whats to it

Brandon is right.

You cannot stay in Thailand on a tourist visa or on a visa-exempt any longer than 180 days within a 365 days period.

An Immigration officer has the right to deny entry if he/she thinks that you are misusing the visa-exempt entry as a means for a longstay in Thailand.

They will, at some point after they see the many entries and extension stamps in your passport, tell you that you are supposed to "get the right visa for your purpose of stay".

At this moment, you are standing in front of the officer as a wannabe "tourist", NOT as the father of a half Thai child, because you are NOT entering Thailand on the purpose of being a legal father to a half Thai child. Brandon wasn’t judging you – he just explained correctly how the Immigration officer sees you. You being not married to a mother of your half Thai son, “doesn’t cut any ice”, as we use to say. It doesn’t count!

You must get the right visa that fits your purpose of stay. There is a visa based on being a father to a half Thai child. Why don’t you apply for it before you travel?

WHY do you not apply for it on the E-visa system of the Royal Thai Embassy in Paris? This visa category would be a "90-days Non-Imm-O Visa based on supporting a half Thai child". With this visa, you can get a "1-year stay permit" for Thailand. You earn more than the required 40,000 THB you need to be able to apply for this visa.

So, GET OFF YOUR LAZY BUTT and check out your visa-options, instead of trying to enter without a visa and risking to get denied entry because Immigration sees it as “you have been in Thailand without a visa too long”

if you earn 50,000 THB pension monthly, you can apply for the 90-days Non-Imm-O Visa based on supporting a half-Thai child. You need a Thai family court order that says that you are the legal father of the child. Based on this income and the fathership, you can apply for the "90-days Non-Imm-O Family Visa" in France. You enter Thailand on this visa, get stamped in for 90 days. As soon as 30 days are left from these 90 days stay permit, you can apply for the "1-year Extension of the stay permit based on supporting a half-Thai child". For this application you need to prove your monthly income of 50,000 THB by an "income affidavit" issued by your French Embassy in Bangkok. Thai Immigration will issue a one-year temporary stay permit. Every year, you can apply for the next "1-year Extension of the stay permit", until your son is 18 years old, from then on, you will need a different solution

can't you transfer more than 50,000 THB if you show up inyour bank and do it directly? Since if you show up in person with your passport, it's all only about proper identification

the Immigration in Pattaya is known for pulling out of their noses random extra requests. Never heard you need a one year rental contract in order to receive a certificate of residency. Some people actually get one - but obviously not in Pattaya - when they accomodate in a hotel

unbelievable. Mot's or F.S. Consulting could have helped you to open a bank account in Pattaya. Service fee would be 5000 THB. It is absolutely possible on an entry using a 90-days Non-Imm-O visa. You however need to be TM30 registered, have a Thai mobile phone number and need the "certificate of residency" from Immigration
