I am asking for a Swiss friend, as he is not capable of proficient English to follow the conversation. He is in a same sex marriage, officially married in Switzerland. His partner wants to apply for the 365-days Non-Imm-O visa based on retirement (he is over 50 and fullfills the financial requirements). As soon as his partner will get the visa issued, he wants to apply for the "90-days Non-Imm-O as a dependant of a foreigner holding a longstay permit for Thailand".
So my question is:
Do Thai Embassy or/and the Thai Immigration allow the "dependant" (trailing spouse) method in a same sex marriage?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question concerns whether a same-sex spouse can apply for a 90-day Non-Imm-O visa in Thailand as a dependent of a partner who holds a long-stay retirement visa. Early comments suggest that while a 90-day Non-O visa may be initially granted, extending it as a dependent might not be allowed under Thai immigration rules, particularly for same-sex marriages.

I am indeed afraid that he can only ask for the extension himself with unfortunately the 65k-plus per month (with income statement) or 800kเธฟ on the bank ๐ IF his age is over 50.
!! Pity Thailand is not there yet to officialy accept such a marriage. Especially in such a free country concerning same sex. Still, I read somewhere in the past "they" are busy with it. Sorry, getting off topic......
I agree that the subject person needs his own visa and extension, but it doesn't have to be limited to Non-O retirement, he could have a lot more choices

while he might get the 90 day Non-O visa issued from a thai consulate in their country I do not believe that they can get an extension based on trailing spouse for same sex marriage at the immigration office inside the country.
