Can I extend my tourist visa in Thailand before having the 800,000 baht required for a Non-O visa?

If not mistaken You have to apply for the non o 3 month visa with your local Thai embassy in your home country , evidence of 800k is required for that visa . Once in Thailand you have 3 months to open a bank transfer 800k to your Thai bank account and then apply for prolonged extension retirement or what so ever .

tourist visa requires you to apply from you country or residence with the concerned country embassy that you plan to visit , if I’m not mistaken !

and JFYI many countries that do have a treaty . . It’s still called an international drivers liscence . Mainly gulf Asia and south east Asia !

yes because it solves the same purpose ! A liscence is a liscence and a permit is a permit … letting you fulfill one purpose ie. Drive . And the person wants to just drive !!!!!
