Yes I'm aware of that....he has to leave by 14 May. The Immigration advice is in order to preserve the said extension he will have to have a re entry permit.

The bottom line is the OP has to leave Thailand by 14th May or risk over stay and all that entails.

He is of course free to re-enter the Kingdom and start the process over again having preserved his "entitlement" with a re entry permit. 🙂

You may be able to obtain a work permit married to Thai.

You are on a Non OA Extension of stay based on retirement that doesn't permit work of any kind whether paid or otherwise. The clue is in "retirement".

It would be unwise to jeopardise that and in particular post your intentions on a public forum that even the IO can follow.

It clearly states extension of stay is granted up to 14 May 2023 (60 days from 15 March 2023).

It states clearly you have to leave the Kingdom within that time period otherwise you will be prosecuted.

It advises you to obtain a re entry permit to preserve the permit.

And to report every 90 days.

So it would be prudent to obtain a re entry permit (1000 THB) by filing a TM-8 with Immigration before you leave and return to Thailand to start the process again.

Presumably you have a motorised letter from Thai mother consenting to your son being with you for last six years?

It may be a good idea to get a notorised letter from Thai mother if you haven't already; permitting your son to travel alone with you.

Sometimes your carrier may not permit you to travel.

Better to be legit than waste a travel ticket if you are not permitted to board.

Just because you may have not been asked before doesn't mean it won't be in the future.

Ask yourself what are the Immigration restrictions in your country of citizenship and whether they compare.. But don't worry Jo....you leave enough of a digital footprint to be traced. 😉

Use this Bangkok Bank Link for Foreign Customers...ask them to send exactly what they require in writing to you.

It doesn't say anything about where you live in the Government link...there are set criteria but that is not one of them.
