TLDR : Answer Summary
If your British girlfriend has lost her passport while living in Thailand, she should follow these steps: first, file a police report regarding the lost passport. Then, she should contact the British embassy for further assistance. It is essential to note that she cannot leave Thailand without a valid passport. The embassy may provide her with emergency travel documents if needed. Additionally, she should watch out for her visa expiration date, as delay in getting a new passport may affect her immigration status.

Be aware that the latest advice for a UK passport is a 15 week wait. If her extension of stay ends before that she may have no other choice but to return home.

1. Report to police as lost or stolen

2. Take police report and any other means of identification to your Embassy

3. Take Emergency Documents and letter from the Embassy (and if possible, your Embarcation Card) to Immigration to get a new "Permission to Stay" stamp in your Emergency Passport.

Probably don't have a TM6 card as it was suspended some time ago for air entries.

Only if arriving by air. By land you still have to fill out the TM6.

She can't leave the country without a passport, so she needs to apply for a new one as soon as possible. If her extension of stay needs renewing she will have issues and she needs to avoid overstaying. As Lynnette says, it might be quicker to get an ETD, go back to the UK and apply there.

She wouldn't be able to leave the country with no passport to travel on. Report loss to police. Contact embassy. There's emergency travel documents if need be. Replacement passport could take a while. Passport office has been on strike.

Step 1 is file a police report. Step 2 is get in touch with her embassy and see what they advise.
