Hello everyone,

Do I need any document for my THAI national minor son to travel from Delhi/India to Bangkok with me ? He has been staying with me here in India for about 6 years. His Thai national mother is staying in Thailand. Any real case or experience sharing will be appreciated.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To travel from India to Bangkok with your Thai national minor son, you will primarily need his Thai passport. It's highly recommended to obtain a notarized consent letter from his Thai mother, permitting him to travel with you, especially since he has been residing in India for several years. While not always required, this letter can help avoid potential issues with the airline or immigration officials. Additionally, carrying the child's birth certificate and other identification documents may prove beneficial. It's advisable to check with your airline about their specific requirements before your trip.

I just traveled from SA to Thailand with our two Thai children . We went to Thai embassy in South Africa got and Thai consent letter with fathers Thai ID and my ID attached also went to local police station for permission letter to leave South Africa with children father had to sign. Also attached was children's birth certificates fathers ID my ID my passport and visa . But inquire with immigration at the airport in India what documents you will need to leave with your child . I did this trip on the 20th April and they asked for these documents when I left and when arrived in Bangkok.

Presumably you have a motorised letter from Thai mother consenting to your son being with you for last six years?

It may be a good idea to get a notorised letter from Thai mother if you haven't already; permitting your son to travel alone with you.

Sometimes your carrier may not permit you to travel.

Better to be legit than waste a travel ticket if you are not permitted to board.

Just because you may have not been asked before doesn't mean it won't be in the future.
