I like to do border runs and quite enjoy them. Otherwise I never would get out of this place.

I have the choice.

Do I apply for a Retirement Visa but can't work.

Do I apply for an investment visa, still can't work.

I have a company but don't need 4 employees to run it.

But I like to work, for my own company. I need to make an income in order to make profit, pay shareholders and taxes. Does not mean I have to physically work for my company.

So, my company offers a services to a Thai Family business which in turn employs me and gets my WP sorted, and I pay my tax accordingly and I'm still legal. There is no universal way to comply to the law.

Lucky, throughout the years, whenever the government changed the law, they didn't apply it retrospectively.

Example, if you obtained your retirement visa 20 years ago, you will not need to comply to the new 60'000 / 800'000 THB rule. Minimum investment has gone up, doesn't mean all businesses who started before have now to reinvest to comply to minimum investment for their visas. Same applies to some extend to other visas, work permits and laws.

And again, I worry more about this group being hijacked by "ThaiVisa" attitudes. :-(

Yeah I know it's at one of the Malayan borders as back in the "Hippie" times those were the only borders we could cross legally by land.

Just thought you might know at which specific border this sign was. I like to have/give proper references for where my information comes from whenever possible. I'm not really a speculator, my endowment policy tough me a lesson :-)

They used to ask politely if you're a hippie or not as they were not quite sure what a hippie was :-) :-)

So basically, "Void without prejudice" means they cancelled for no specific reason or they cancelled the visa for so many reasons, they can't be bothered to explain them all?

Or is it Void without pointing fingers at the applicant?

I suppose. When Visa application got denied in the past, they just handed back your passport and the application with Visa Denied on it, nothing in the Passport. You just lost your fee, that's all. So one just went to an other Consulate or Embassy to try their luck or entered on VE and mostly it worked.

But having an actual Visa Refused stamp in your passport will probably not allow you that anymore,

good old hippie time :-)

Soon they will need to change that sign.

I was refused entry for being a Hippy, not having sufficient funds, not wearing an appropriate shirt or being barefoot and always managed to soort it out at the same day, maybe a few hours later but at the same day ;-)

Good old days :-)
